|Brief Description of Duties:
The Assistant Professor of Surgery will be responsible for clinical care of patients at University Hospital of Brooklyn (UHB) including inpatient and outpatient consultation, daily hospital rounds and operative procedures. Participation in weekly attending on-call coverage for general surgery at UHB. Responsible for education of surgical residents and medical students during daily clinical activities, as well as participation in the residency core curriculum and medical student curriculum. Development of lectures and grand rounds for residents and attending staff. Supervision of medical student and resident Surgical Simulation Lab activities at Downstate Campus. If the selected faculty member is not currently participating in extramurally funded research, he/she is expected to devote time to develop an on-going base of funded clinical or translational research.

REQUIRED: MD; NYS Medical License and current registration. Certification by the American Board of Surgery, or within 3 years of completion of General Surgery Residency.
