|Brief Description of Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Provide cardiac and thoracic surgical care to patients at University Hospital of Brookyn (UHB) including in and outpatient consultation and operative procedures. Participate in attending on-call coverage for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at UHB. Responsible for education and supervision of cardiothoracic surgical fellows, general surgery residents and medical students during daily clinical activities at UHB. Assist with interviews of Medical Students and Surgery Residency applicants. Identify and pursue opportunities for scholarly activity in conjunction with Cardiothoracic Division faculty and trainees. Produce at least two articles or book chapters annually for submission to peer-reviewed publications. Assist in surgical simulation laboratory curriculum.

Required Qualifications: Certification by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery. New York State Medical License and current registration. Preferred Qualifications: Training and current competence in Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, Off-pump Surgery and Atrial Fibrillation Surgery.
