|Brief Description of Duties:
Reporting to the AVP for Ambulatory Service, this position will be charged with the development of physician compensation modeling and methodology, fair market value analyses, and negotiations with potential physician partners. He/she will work collaboratively with the Legal department, Human Resources, Corporate Compliance, and other stakeholders in physician contract development (Memoranda of Agreements), the creation and deployment of physician contract renewals, and practice acquisition due-diligence. This leader will develop the methodology and management of a system-wide employed physician compensation model that is in compliance with New York State law and SUNY and Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) rules, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and DMC policies, practices and procedures. Compensation models must also balance performance, quality of care, patient satisfaction, and meet Fair Market Value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness standards while remaining competitive in order to ensure successful recruitment /retention. This position will also work collaboratively with the clinical and Hospital leadership to build a strong team. Additionally, this key position will perform quarterly analytical reviews and readjustments of each employed provider pay structure in order to deliver a fair market value (FMV) plan. The position will also develop, monitor and deliver on-call and directorship compensation methodologies in addition to the following: Develop a thorough understanding of SUNY Downstate Physicians and the communities they serve. Build credible relationships built on trust and mutual respect with key stakeholders throughout UHB and the community. Gain respect from the staff, peers, administration, and physicians by functioning as a supportive, visible, leader with a strong open communication style and effective and timely follow-through. Conduct an in-depth assessment of the department and build upon the capacity of the team through mentoring further development and education. Serve as a sounding board to the physicians and model behavior as a leader across the system in effective physician interaction. Develop and implement an innovative and effective value-based physician compensation model incorporating patient satisfaction, outcomes, and quality of care. Work collaboratively with system operations and medical directors in a consultative manner to ensure compensation or contractual changes are communicated clearly, consistently, and are tailored to each groupís unique needs. Promote an environment that inspires exceptional performance, teamwork, and customer service.

|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
REQUIRED: Bachelorís degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. He/she will possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Physician Compensation Consultant or Analyst with three (3) years in a leadership role within a physician group or a health system setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills also required. PREFERRED: Masterís degree and certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
