Brief Description of Duties:
Coordinate day-to-day activities of the various pipeline and diversity enhancement programs of the Office of Diversity, Education, and Research in the College of Medicine. Provide guidance and counseling to students enrolled in our pipeline programs in attaining academic and social skills necessary for successful matriculation into health careers. Assist with curriculum development and program evaluation. Create linkages and partnerships with colleges in an effort to recruit and promote outreach to diverse student populations. Assist with grant writing and disseminating scholarly work to support the growth of our diversity pipeline programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION
|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
Must have Masterís degree or higher, excellent writing, and communications skills. Dedicated to promoting diversity and applying innovative educational tools to increase diversity. Has an understanding of challenges with recruitment of diverse students in biomedicine and is willing to work across multiple sectors to develop, implement, and evaluate innovate programs. Interested in community outreach and scholarly activities in areas relevant to the expansion of the diversity mission. Applicant must have a basic understanding of data analysis and can perform descriptive statistics. Able to interpret literature and data from several disciplines in education, social science or biomedical science and use this information to develop new curricula material for undergraduate pipelines. PREFERRED: Experience in program development and evaluation in education or other relevant areas. Prior experience in fund raising to sustain programs..
