|Additional Position Information: * Represents Location Pay for full-time appointees. Hours of work 9AM-5PM; Days of week M-F; Hours per week: 37.5|
Brief Description of Duties:
Act as Departmental Coordinator for two departments: Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. Work collaboratively with the Departmental Chairs, faculty of the Departments and faculty/staff of other divisions within the School of Public Health to ensure efficient and timely operations. Track all student demographics and academic progress in the three concentrations; Document and track Culminating Experiences (CE) for all students and arrange for CE presentations; Work collaboratively with Chair and faculty of departments on new initiatives; Train new staff and orient new faculty to SUNY Downstate; Ongoing troubleshooting to remove barriers to progress in implementation of the above; Work with Marketing committee and Recruitment/Marketing Specialist to plan and implement a recruitment/advertising campaign for the Departments; Prepare learning materials for students per faculty instructions; Work with staff in main office to schedule faculty presentations, student presentations and research seminars; Work with the Assistant Dean for Enrollment and Student Affairs to ensure students are assigned to Faculty Advisors in the three concentrations; Provide any other support services required by the Chairs or faculty of the Departments.

REQUIRED: Two years of college or the equivalent in college credits from an accredited institution of higher learning. Experience in an academic setting. Good command of English, both written and verbal. PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree.
