|Additional Position Information: * Represents Location Pay for full-time appointees. Days of Week: Mon-Fri; Hours of Work: 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Hours per Week: 37.5. On-call, holiday and emergency coverage based on operational needs.|
Brief Description of Duties:
Perform those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of Nuclear Medicine equipment. Ensure that all standard of care are met for our patient population. Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients. Adhere to the standards for all regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission and NYS Department of Health are met. Responsible for patient care while performing imaging studies, to include accuracy of patient identification Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection, ingestion and inhalation methods. Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures at a technical level, including obtaining pertinent clinical and medical history of patients and follow-up examinations that were performed. Must demonstrate knowledge in the effects of radiation exposure, radiation procedures, radiopharmaceuticals, computer applications and imaging techniques. Responsible for safety precautions for patients and workers in regards to radiation exposure. Ability to identify sources of radiation contamination and follow procedures cleanup and control of radioactive waste. Assists in training student technologist and medical students rotating through the department. Ability to deal with emergent situations and provide care based on emergent needs. Problem solving skills regarding equipment usage Learn and use computerized patient information systems, including Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS. Exams must be completed immediately in RIS and verify on PACS. Burning of CD's and DVD's when necessary. On-call, holiday and emergency coverage as needed.

|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
REQUIRED: AAS degree. NYS Nuclear Medicine License. Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (NMTCB), ARRT certified. PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree. At least 3 years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital based setting performing all Nuclear Medicine procedure.
