Brief Description of Duties:
This position reports directly to the Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Training Program with some supervision by the Departmental Administrator. The House Staff Administrator will be responsible for the administration of all aspects of education program, including fellowship, house staff training and undergraduate teaching in the Department of Medicine. Serve as advisor for fellowship program directors and coordinators. Hold regular meetings with fellowship coordinators Responsible for day-to-day administrative running of the residency program, counseling house staff on program policies and procedures; Assist in resident recruitment, orientation, management of a computerized evaluation, tracking system and program development. Assist program directors in maintaining compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements. Address day-to-day issues and respond to concerns in a timely manner. Coordinate house staff retreats, conferences, and events. Plan, produce and distribute all materials pertaining to house staff programs. Coordinate with program directors submission of the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) rank list via internet. Prepare yearly surveys and evaluations, draft recommendation letters. Assist in the preparation of department, faculty and house staff for site visit. Key participation in site visit. Assist in the supervision of all research, non-teaching professional administrative personnel in the Department of Medicine under the direction of the Senior Associate Administrator for the department.

|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
REQUIRED: Bachelorís degree and a minimum of three (3) years experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity in an academic medical center or related setting. In lieu of degree, candidate must have at least six (6) years administrative experience in a similar position. Computer literacy and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. PREFERRED: Masterís degree with three (3) years experience in an academic medical center.
