Brief Description of Duties:
Perform venipuncture and finger stick collection on inpatients and outpatients. The selected candidate will perform the following duties: Maintain accurate logs of all venipuncture performed. Process/handle specimens in central receiving area. Logging of specimens via LIS (Cerner) Participate in all aspects of quality assurance, quality control, patient safety, continuing education and other aspects as needed. Train and aid in the instrumentation of techniques to new personnel and house staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION

All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior.   Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: One year experience in Venipuncture and Clinical Labs. PREFERRED: Phlebotomy certification, ASCP or equivalent.
