|Additional Position Information: * Represents Location Pay for full-time appointees. Hours of work: 7:00AM - 4:00PM. Days of week: Variable. Hours per week: 37.5.|
Brief Description of Duties:
The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing patient care services. Respond to the needs of the work environment by creating a safe and efficient workplace. Responsible for managing human and material resources of nursing services within budget/targets, while maintaining equipment and supplies as required. In collaboration with Finance, develop an annual expense and revenue budget in order to ensure the ability to monitor overall financial performance of the department and make timely adjustments to achieve operating financial targets. Build professional practice. Collaborate with Education Department in the development and implementation of effective education programs and teaching to enhance staff knowledge and confidence. Utilize research findings and observational data to promote unit based research and integrate evidenced-based practice and knowledge into the delivery of nursing care. Facilitate shared decision making processes by encouraging staff to actively participate in nursing councils, departmental decision making and performance improvement. Maintain clinical expertise, role model clinical excellence and support staff through direct patient care at scheduled intervals and at periods of high acuity as necessary to maintain safe patient care. Coach, empower and hold accountable nursing staff in their implementation and evaluation of professional practice and patient care.

|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
REQUIRED: Current NYS RN License; , BSN with 3-5 years of active relevant clinical experience. Prior management or leadership experience. Dialysis Nursing Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or it must be successfully completed within 3 months of employment. Membership in a professional organization. PREFERRED: Master's degree in Nursing or enrollment in a Master's program. Demonstrate knowledge of basic computer skills including capability with Microsoft Office applications.
