Brief Description of Duties:
The Department of Ortho/Rehab is seeking a Physician Assistant or Orthopaedic Physician Assistant to work under the supervising physician within the clinical setting, inclusive of out-patient and in-patient facilities. The incumbent will serve as part of the patient treatment and management team by performing preadmission patient evaluations and work-up, including history and physical assessment, patient education and the institution of routine orders as per the MD. Other duties include but not limited to administering aspirations and injections, and the applying and removal of casts/splints. Services may also be performed in primary orthopaedic care, pre-operative care, intra-operative care, and post-operative care. Institute in-house, transfer and discharge orders.

|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
REQUIRED: NYS License and Bachelorís Degree from an approved Physician Assistant Program PREFERRED: Minimum of two (2) years related orthopaedic experience in a primary medical care setting or three (3) years in an orthopaedic clinic.
