| Minimum Required QUALIFICATIONS: New York State employees who hold a permanent appointment in this title will be considered for lateral transfer. Thereafter, all appointments will be made from the Civil Service List. If the Civil Service List yields an insufficient number of interested candidates, qualified individuals who have successfully completed 60 semester credit hours at a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable educational practices, may be appointed pending their successful passage and reachability on an established Civil Service List. A valid New York State Driver's License is required for appointment and continuation in service. Must meet physical, medical and investigative requirements as prescribed by the Department of Civil Service. | |
| Additional Information: Responds to calls for assistance to insure persons and property are adequately protected. May respond to situations involving but not restricted to burglaries, robberies, thefts, criminal trespass, assaults, medical emergencies, fires, vehicles and traffic violations. Conduct initial investigation of incidents; interview witnesses, complainants and suspects and may testify in court. Walks or cruises through area of patrol in order to deter criminal activity by means of presence and witness and detects firs and other dangerous situations. When assigned as desk officer, may receive and interpret incoming radio and telephone calls from offices and members of the community, dispatches to the scenes of incidents | |
| All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |
