| Minimum Required QUALIFICATIONS: - Requirements: NYS Employees who hold a permanent appointment in this title will be considered for lateral transfer. Thereafter, all appointments will be made from the Civil Service List. If the Civil Service list yields an insufficient number of interested candidates, provisional appointments may be made to individuals who meet the FOLLOWING - QUALIFICATIONS: pending passing and achieving a reachable score on the Civil Service Exam; a current Security Guard Photo ID issued by the NY Department of State; ability to meet physical/medical requirements as determined by the Director of Employee Health Service; ability to pass a background screening investigation and a valid NYS drivers license. | |
| Additional Information: - Provides foot patrol of state facilities to detect security incidents and deter criminal activity by means of presence and witness. Inspects state premises to detect maintenance problems and equipment failures. When assigned to a shift during which a facility is open to the public, must regularly meet and deal with the public to provide direction and information. In the event of a fire, may operate fire extinguishers. Question persons who appear to be loitering to ascertain the legitimacy of their presence. May operate a motor vehicle to transport people or cargo. As directed, prepare written reports of shift activities. | |
| All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |
