The Department of Renal Transplant at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time Clinical Assistant Professor/ Medical Director, Transplantation. The successful candidate will: - Be responsible for medical management of inpatient and outpatient kidney transplant patients including allograft biopsies. - Evaluate potential transplant candidates and donors. - Contribute actively to policy making for the transplant service and attend transplant related administrative meetings. - Actively participate in the development of a pancreas transplantation program. - Render consultative in and outpatient nephrology services and ESRD management. - Actively participate in educational activities for the renal division. - Actively participate in research. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||
| Qualifications: - Board Certified in Internal Medicine. - Board Certified in nephrology. - Completion of Fellowship in Transplant Nephrology in an Accredited UNOS/AST Center. - Experience in renal ultrasound and real time ultrasound guided kidney biopsies. - Experience in pre and post-operative medical management of the pancreas transplant recipient. - Must demonstrate ability to conduct basic or clinical investigation. |
