The Department of Renal Transplant at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time Clinical Assistant Professor/ Medical Director, Transplantation. The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for medical management of inpatient and outpatient kidney transplant patients including allograft biopsies.
- Evaluate potential transplant candidates and donors.
- Contribute actively to policy making for the transplant service and attend transplant related administrative meetings.
- Actively participate in the development of a pancreas transplantation program.
- Render consultative in and outpatient nephrology services and ESRD management.
- Actively participate in educational activities for the renal division.
- Actively participate in research.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION

All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.

Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
- Board Certified in nephrology.
- Completion of Fellowship in Transplant Nephrology in an Accredited UNOS/AST Center.
- Experience in renal ultrasound and real time ultrasound guided kidney biopsies.
- Experience in pre and post-operative medical management of the pancreas transplant recipient.
- Must demonstrate ability to conduct basic or clinical investigation.
