The Department of Development and Philanthropy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Events Coordinator / Senior Staff Assistant. The core principals guiding the Event Coordinator as a member of the Development Team are: - Building and sustaining relationships. - Raising awareness and appreciation of the University and fund raising to support its mission. - With supervision and coordinated plans, helps execute events supporting and sponsored by and for the University. Duties include: - Helping to conceptualize events. - Create general events plan and checklists. - Maintains annual events calendars, and helps coordinator principals. - Helps develop events budgets, track expenditures and invoices; maintains historical files on same. - Assisting with the planning and production of event materials, including guests lists and invitations. - Assist with event contracting for retaining venue, caterer, florist, music, photographer, etc. - Mails invitations and maintains the rsvp list, and guests seating plans; submits guests contacts to Database Manager. - Creates and manages pre and post event plan of action including volunteers, transportation. - Prepares and maintains evaluations of events and provides recommendation for future improvements. - Other duties to support and enhance events and fund raising as assigned. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||

Qualifications: - A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. - The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience as an Events Coordinator with evidence of event operations and execution experiences. - Possess professional, strong work ethic. - Strong organizational skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Team oriented. |
