Brief Description of Duties: Are you looking to take your career to new heights with a leader in healthcare? We are also highly-ranked by Castle Connolly Medical, a healthcare rating company for consumers, among the top 5 leading U.S. medical schools for training doctors. The School of Public Health (SOPH) at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Senior Staff Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be accountable for, but not limited to the following: - Acts as primary staff support for the Vice Dean. - Independently manages and executes projects in support of initiatives rolled out by the Vice Dean. - Assists with the development of MOU’s with feeder colleges and employers. - Create a comprehensive SPH alumni database; maintain contact and build relationships with alumni. - Maintain up to date data on hiring practices, employers’ needs, desired alumni qualifications and public health workforce trends. - Acts as administrative support for accreditation related activities for the SOPH with regard to the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). - Works with the Vice Dean and Administrator gathering needed data and documentation to reaccredit the SOPH in 2023, as well as to be in compliance with the CEPH accreditation criteria. - Works with the Vice Dean and Administrator to prepare and submit interim and annual reports to CEPH. - Assists with organizing and formatting the accreditation documents for the Council on Education for Public, in consultation with the Vice Dean and the Administrator. - Keeps accurate and up-to-date maintenance of all required documents. - Provides effective support in tasks such as formatting accreditation documents and gathering official backup documentation; maintain hard copy and electronic filing system. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||

Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree is required with strong writing and communication skills. - Ability to work independently, take appropriate initiative as needed and follow directions. |
