The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time CTS EKG Associate. The successful candidate will: - Assist the RN in observing, analyzing and documenting all rhythm strips on all telemetry patients. - Maintain monitoring equipment that is clean and functional and coordinate repairs with the Assistant Director of Nursing and SMIC. - Communicate pertinent information about current medical status and changes in rhythm by continuous interactions with nurses and other relevant disciplines. - In collaboration with the RN instructs: patients, family members, hospital personnel as to the purpose and functions of the procedures and equipment being utilized. - Participate in patient care activities under the direction of the RN. - Perform quality assurance glucometer checks as per protocol for the unit assignment and complete finger sticks. - Assist with phlebotomy sticks. - Prepare and complete 12 lead EKGs - Participate in continuing staff development activities. - Transport patients to procedural areas and back to their admission units. - Identify and order necessary unit supplies based upon patient care needs. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||

Qualifications: - Associate's degree or EKG Certification or one (1) year clinical hospital experience preferred. |
