The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time Medical Radiographer I / X-Ray Technologist. The successful candidate will be New York State licensed radiologic technologist and will: - Conduct diagnostic imaging, including general x-ray, portables, fluoroscopy and all other applicable diagnostic exams. - Demonstrate experience with all diagnostic equipment including portable and fluoroscopic equipment and the operating room. - Produce high quality images efficiently regardless of volume. - Perform exams in accordance with established protocols. - Demonstrate the ability to aid external and internal customers, and provide excellent customer service. - Be responsible for patient care while performing imaging, to include accuracy of patient identification. - Have the ability to deal with emergent situations. - Maintain the principles of ALARA. - Have the strong ability to teach House Staff or other personnel in the technical aspects of imaging equipment. - Have prior experience with computerized patient information systems, including Radiology Information Systems and PACS. All exams must be completed immediately in RIS and verify on PACS. - Be responsible for burning CD's and DVD's when necessary. - Adhere to all SUNY Downstate Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures, to include principles of behavior, hospital/ department infection control policies and procedures. - Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients. Adhere to time and attendance policies. - Be flexible with availability as the work hours may change on an as-needed basis, according to departmental operating needs, and be flexible to perform other tasks as needed. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||

Qualifications: REQUIRED: - New York State License. - A.R.R.T registration. - A.A.S. degree or equivalent. - A minimum of 2 years of experience in all diagnostic x-ray procedures. PREFERRED: - Hospital experience. |
