The Department of Radiology/ Diagnostic at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Medical Radiographer. The successful candidate will: - Licensed radiological technologist required to perform diagnostic imaging including general x-ray, portables, fluoroscopy and all other applicable diagnostic exams. - Must be familiar with all diagnostic equipment including portable and fluoroscopic equipment and the operating room. - Ability to produce high quality images efficiently regardless of volume. Performs exams in accordance with established protocols. - Demonstrates the ability to provide assistance to external and internal customers. Provides excellent customer service. - Responsible for patient care while performing imaging, to include accuracy of patient identification. - Able to deal with emergent situations. - Maintains principle of ALARA. - Ability to teach House Staff or other personnel in the technical aspects of imaging equipment. - Must have prior experience with computerized patient information systems, including Radiology Information Systems and PACS. - All exams must be completed immediately in RIS and verify on PACS. - Duties include burning CD’s and DVD’s when necessary. - Hours may change on as needed basis according to departmental operating needs. - Must adhere to all SUNY Downstate Medical Center and department policies and procedures, to include principle of behavior. - Must adhere to hospital/ department infection control policies and procedures. - Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients. - Must adhere to time and attendance policies. - Performs other tasks as required. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||

Qualifications: REQUIRED: - New York State license and A.R.R.T registration required. - A.A.S. degree or equivalent. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in all diagnostics x-ray procedures. PREFERRED: - Hospital experience. |
