The Department of Clinical Labs, Blood Bank at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Technologist III. The successful candidate will:
- Performs all aspects of blood bank testing, including but not limited to ABO/Rh typing, cross-matching, antibody detection and identification with appropriate follow-ups.
- Maintains quality control of equipment and reagents.
- Manages meticulous record-keeping and utilizes follow-up skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION

All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
- BS Degree or equivalent in medical technology, chemical or biological science
- 1-3 years experience and computer skills

PREFERRED:
- ASCP certification and prior blood bank work experience
