The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a per diem Pharmacist. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing to the adult and pediatric patient, in both an inpatient and outpatient care setting.

The candidate will gain experience in managing patients from a contract pharmacy, specialty pharmacy or 340B practice setting:
- Dispensing of medications following all NYS Regulations.
- Review and understanding of cancer protocols and drug regimens.
- Provides drug information and consultation.
- Prepares medication in the safest manner required following all regulatory and state law.
- Documents and maintains pharmaceutical records.
- Training and mentoring of staff and students.
- Nurse station reviews.
- In service education.
- Collaborates professionally with Medical Providers, Nursing and other allied health professions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION

All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior.   Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy with an NYS State License.
- Full understanding drug regimens for both pediatric and adult patients.
- 3-5 years prior experience in an Oncology Pharmacy setting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
- ASHP Certification.
