The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a per diem Pharmacy Tech. The successful candidate will:
- Work under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Assist in filling medication orders for in-patients.
- Maintain stock of pharmaceutical and related supplies.
- Process charges and generate computer shelf labels for inventory management.
- Assist in managing proper profiling for the patient.
- Maintain supplies in the pharmacy work area.
- Assist in the preparation of parenteral solutions as needed using compounding technology.
- Assist in the preparation of extemporaneous pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain supplies in Pharmacy work area.
- Assist in the preparation of parenteral solutions as needed utilizing compounding technology.
- Maintain prescription files.
- Assist the pharmacist in answering drug information service.
- Participate in nursing station inspections.
- Participate in unit dose cassette exchange system and Pyxis replenishment.
- Assist the pharmacist in the parenteral admixture lab.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION

All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.

Qualifications:
- AA degree preferred and
- Certificate of Pharmacy Technician.
- 2 to 3 years of experience as Pharmacy Technician
