The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part time Staff Assistant I.

Incumbent is assigned functional and administrative supervision over a small clerical staff and receive direct supervision from a senior administrator and Chairman. Typical duties include:

- Coordination of divisional activities among individuals and groups working within the Division of Sports Medicine.
- Acting as liaison between staff members and administrative, academic, research, and clinical personnel as well as off-campus individuals.
- Maintenance of accurate, up-to-date records of state and department funds, to include research grant monies where applicable.
- Independently responds to routine correspondence and fulfills other duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION

All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior.   Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or AAS with two years of relevant experience in a supervisory/ administrative capacity.
