The Department of Pathology at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, Chemistry & Immunology. The successful candidate will: - General responsibility for Clinical Laboratory’s and office personnel - Assures adequate staffing at all times. - Liaison with Hospital Administrative services and clinical departments. - Prepare and implement budget for the Chemistry and Immunology Laboratory. - General responsibility for supplies, equipment and materials management. - Interfaces with office facilities and coordinates laboratory services. - Participate in the hospital, departmental quality improvement activities. - Coordinates quality control record and checks performance manual for all tests done in the lab areas. - Assures proper documentation for compliance with all regulatory agency requirements. - Comply with all established standards including CLIA, NYSDOH, CAP, FDS, JC and University Hospital policies and procedures. - Assures compliance with Institutional and Departmental policies. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science required. (Master of Science Degree is preferred.) - Seven (7) years minimum experience in Chemistry and Hematology, including five (5) years supervisory / administrative capacity required. - New York State Laboratory Technologist License required. - ASCP certification required. |
