The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Senior Oncology Pharmacist. The successful candidate will: - Dispenses, compounds, admixes drugs and other pharmaceuticals including chemotherapeutic agents. - Reviews and approves medication orders for safety and efficiency. - Participates in the management of Pyxis medstations. - Admixes oncology, TPN, and investigational drug solutions as needed. - Dispenses controlled substances in accordance with NYS and federal regulations. - Participate in drug utilization reviews, QA, and PI programs. - Maintains adequate records with the Pharmacy. - Supervises technicians and pharmacy support staff. - Reports to the Director Pharmacy and the Associate Directors of Pharmacy. - Provides inservice education to healthcare professionals on demand. - May be asked to represent the Pharmacy Department in various committees at the digression of the Pharmacy Director. - Holiday coverage rotation and on-call/ recall rotation required. | All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization. | |||
|
Qualifications: - Pharm D. degree. - NYS Pharmacist License. - 2 years of experience in a hospital setting. - Greater than 1 year mixing cytotoxic/ chemotherapeutic agents. - Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist preferred. - Experience with all-scripts preferred. |
